The Legion of Mary was founded in Ireland by Frank Duff in 1921 on the 7th September. From humble beginnings it is now one of the largest Catholic lay apostolates in the world. Its primary aim is evangelisation and also the sanctification of its members. To join the Legion of Mary one must be a practicing Catholic as the work involves going out and spreading the Catholic faith to others as well as doing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. They do an incredible and vast amount of work all over the world and bring many people back into the fold of the Catholic Church through their outreach.
This weekend their annual Youth Conference takes place in Dublin and this year the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown will attend on Sunday to celebrate the Holy Mass and then there will be a question and answer session with him afterwards. So that should be very insightful for all attending. We ask Our Lady to watch over it and that it would be a very blessed event for all who attend.
