Novena for our Priests and Bishops in Ireland - Day 1

Today we remember especially our own Priests in our Parish, and our own Diocesan Bishop.  We pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for them, and while doing so we meditate on the sufferings of Christ, who suffered for them and for all of us.

From the Diary of St. Faustina, she writes;

A priest who is not at peace with himself will not be able to inspire peace in another soul. O priests, you bright candles enlightening human souls, let your brightness never be dimmed.
(Diary of St. Faustina # 75)

Prayer for Priests

"O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of Priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord. Lord, give us holy Priests; You yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the soul of Priests.  May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of Priests, for You can do all things."   -  St. Faustina's Diary 1052

Our Lady Mother of the Church, and Mother of all Priests pray for our Bishops and Priests.

Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy......

Note:  I am scheduling all of the Novena posts to appear each day at midnight to cater for all those who are in other countries who wish to participate in our Novena for our Priests and Bishops here in Ireland.  Thanks to Fr.O of An Irish Ordinariate for posting about this Novena on his blog.  He will be included in our prayers.
